This former rented house with attached coach house was built around 1890. The property is one of the first houses built on Stationslaan after the construction of the railway line in 1884. The rented house with attached coach house has great cultural and architectural-historical value. It is a fine example of a late 19th-century rented house, mainly because of the striking eclectic decorations to the living quarters and coach house, but also because of its historical and spatial-visual relationship with the railway line and its prominent location on the corner of Stationslaan and Molenweg. This is an object that suffered a lot during the quakes. An exemplary project in which the monumental status, the wishes of the current residents and future-proofing were taken into account in the reinforcement work. All this took six years altogether. The rebuilding work did not harm this special and historic house.
